Portland, OR: 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition $1750

The main thing about this van is that it runs great. It has about 148,000 miles. It has quite a few minor problems and I am disinclined to put time and money into it. Perhaps you would like like to rescue and rehabilitate this once proud van. It was given to me about six months ago the rear brakes were redone then and about three months ago the exhaust was redone up to the catalytic converter and muffler. This van was driven out from Maryland, given to me and then I drove it to New York and back with out any major mishaps. The problems it has are: the heater/defroster blower doesn't work, the horn doesn't work, there is no power steering rack but it is still fairly easy to steer, the shifting linkage is a little sticky, moisture comes in through a hole in the floor of the front passenger foot well and under the sliding door, the sliding door is becoming increasingly difficult to latch, there is no duct work running along the roof, the back hatch will not stay open on its own, the front brakes need to be redone, the plug in the oil pan leaks a little, and there is some coolant leakage as well. And since this van grew up in Maryland where they put salt on the roads there is a little rust. On the plus side it comes equipped with a CD player. Make me an offer I can't refuse.
