DIY VW Mechanic: Vanagon Heater Core Replacement and Dash Removal

My friend recently removed the dash of his 1989 Vanagon because their was a leak in the heater core. The car looked completely different and figured it was worth sharing the pictures he took. The process took a few weeks due to the extra work to re-wire the fuse boxes and replace the clutch peddle. The Master and slave clutch cylinders were also replaced since they were easily accessible. Here are the pictures:

Removed steering wheel from Vanagon

Fuses replaced with custom fuse box connectors

Removed heater core from behind dash

Worn linkage between clutch peddle. Replaced at local machine shop.

Note that the LIQUI MOLY lubricant does wonders on any moving part in your Vanagon!
