About This Blog: Expanding the Vanagon Craigslist Search to Washington and Oregon

Every once in a while I figured it would be good to look at where this website is headed and where it has potential to grow. Some readers maybe wondering what city has the most Vanagons? Or, where are Vanagons most popular? In looking at the Google Analytics data, generated by users like you who visit this website, we can see the top US States ranking and the corresponding top three cities from each. We could assume that search terms related to vanagon that land on this website corresponds to vanagon owners.

1. California
     a. Burbank
     b. Irvine
     c. San Diego
2. Oregon
     a. Portland
     b. Eugene
     c. Hillsboro
3. Washington
     a. Seattle
     b. Spokane
     c. Olympia

There must be something about the Pacific Northwest and California that enjoy the Epic Vanagon Culture! It may be the ocean beaches, the Redwood forest, or camping friendly outdoors nature that brings this van such popularity. There may also be a slight bias, but I think there are some overall trends that remain true. California is of course in the lead since that's where the existing craigslist searches are being generated from. However we may see a shift in the states as we add Oregon and Washington to the mix. These additional craigslist searches will surely generate additional posts, and if your like me, More Vanagon means More Fun!!! Here is a Vanagon on I see almost daily in a nearby parking lot. Ain't she a beauty!

In Future posts "About this Blog" we can look at the keyword search terms that land people on this website (Right now the most popular search term is 'Westfalia Los Angeles') as well as a world look of where people are searching for Vanagon's. In years to come I hope to have enough data to produce a price analysis of Vanagon's and generate a regression model based on the year, type of Vanagon, condition, and # of engine miles to estimate a value for your Vanagon! And will hopefully be able to back up the data with specific examples. All very exciting, we hope you join us for the journey!!!

Just for fun, I thought it would be worthwhile to share where the top 10 locations people are visiting this website from to learn more about Vanagon's. There is a breakdown for the entire World, US States, and US Cities.

While this maybe too much information about Vanagon's, for now, enjoy the newly added top three cities in each of the top three states searches on criagslist!

Disclaimer: This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane. A more acurate estimate would come from the DMV or possibly an agregate approach from number of vanagon specific mechanics in an particular area.
